More About Spencer

PERSONAL:  “I’ve been living in the Denver Metro area for my 24 years of life, however I was born in Temple, Texas. I was adopted into a loving family with two sisters one of which is also adopted and one brother.”

VOLUNTEERING:  “I have been involved with a program called Destination Imagination (DI) since I was in elementary school, at first I was a part of this as a child in the program and now as an adult I help DI as a volunteer. DI helps kids learn and apply creative thinking skills, problem solving amongst much more.”

BELIEFS:  “I believe you have to go through the dark to get to the light in life. Earn every inch, as they say in Pirates of the Caribbean “Take What you can. Give nothing back.” I look at this as life and what you want to do and become in this lifetime.”

HOPE FOR THE FUTURE:  “My hope for the future is undefined, for the future is every second of every day and all we can hope to do is be better than we once were.”

A favorite quote:  “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us… Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. we are all meant to shine, as children do… It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. “ (Marianne Williamson)
